Real-time Needle Tracking using FBG sensors and visualization in 3D Slicer
In this study, 3D shape of a 20 G MRI-compatible needle was tracked in real-time with high bandwidth using FBG sensors. This study extends the previous studies to needle with higher gauge (less diameter) and guarantees less than 0.5 mm accuracy of needle-tip for "any insertion depth". We visualized the needle in 3D Slicer. The "red point" is the reference.
